Evan Chen, his father is a senior amateur racer which established a strong interest in car racing for him early on. Evan started his career as a racing driver when he was 20. When he participated in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA) for the first time in Thailand in 2015, he won the championship. He also competed in Asian Formula Renault in 2016. In 2018, he was sponsored and trained by Lamborghini Taipei and became the champion of Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, Pro Class the next year.

Evan participated in the Formula Renault Asia eRacing Series, though this was the first time he competed in an eRacing competition, he got 5 championships in 6 races, Pro Class, overall standings in Top 2. “I enjoyed the competitiveness between the drivers in the race, it was very exciting.”

Evan thinks that eRacing helps the drivers maintain the feeling of competition during lockdown, he is still waiting for the real motorsport to come back and, when it does, he believes eRacing will continue and with more exposure, more people can enjoy the excitement in eRacing.

Evan is looking forward to the next season of Formula Renault eRacing Series and, if there’s P3 eSports Race, “Not only to maintain the feeling of competion, but also to help maintain and improve the mental quality.
